Managing Recycling Systems
Three-day course | February 25-27 | 8AM - 5:30 PM: This course provides the information needed to successfully plan, develop, market, fund, contract and manage recycling programs. It also addresses collection, processing, end-use standards application and protection of human health and the environment.
After completing this course, participants will understand:
- Establish and manage contracts for recycling services
- Fund a recycling program and identify program costs and revenues that need to be applied
- Apply quality requirements and regulatory standards and identify key elements of a “Buy Recycled” program
- Manage a recycling program to protect human health and the environment
Meet Your Instructors
Miriam Zimms is a Project Manager at Kessler Consulting. Ms. Zimms has more than 19 years in the environmental industry with a focus in materials and resource management and specializes in innovative program development, management, integration, and execution. She is a certified SWANA instructor for both Manager of Recycling Systems and the Composting Systems Manager certification courses.
Mitch Kessler, President of Kessler Consulting, Inc. has more than 25 years in the solid waste industry and has been responsible for over 200 projects pertaining to comprehensive waste management, collection, recycling, and composting programs for municipalities, institutions, and private corporations. Mr. Kessler is the current President of the SWANA Florida Sunshine Chapter. He is a certified SWANA instructor for both Manager of Recycling Systems and the Composting Systems Manager certification courses.
