Whether it’s your first WASTECON or your 15th, WASTECON 2010 in Boston this August is going to be a new experience.
WASTECON 2010 will still provide the industry leading educational opportunities, exhibit hall filled with vendors and service providers and exciting networking events that you expect, but it will be in a new format with new opportunities.
The most immediate change you will notice is the new schedule. This year’s event will be held Sunday August 15 through Tuesday August 17, 2010. This new schedule will provide a more compact show, allowing busy professionals to make the most of their time away from the office. Some of the changes to the schedule include:
- New Show Schedule – Sunday August 15 – Tuesday August 17
Bonus Technical Session – New for 2010 – Saturday August 14 & Wednesday August 18
Facility Tours and Golf Tournament – Wednesday August 18 (Training course attendees will now have an opportunity to participate in these valuable educational and networking events)
New times for networking – Saturday Opening Reception and Monday Night Networking Event at Fenway Park
For 2010, SWANA will be colocated with the American Publics Works Association (APWA). With similar goals and a lot of synergy between the associations, the colocation of WASTECON with APWA’s Annual Congress will provide WASTECON attendees with more:
Technical sessions - Over 200 presentations and 2 days of Bonus Sessions, not to mention the APWA sessions available to WASTECON attendees at no additional cost.
Exhibits – A combined show floor offers more opportunities to visit a wider variety of service providers that could benefit solid waste professionals.
Unique perspectives – Time and again, the opportunity to connect with other attendees rates as a significant benefit of WASTECON. For 2010, you’ll have even more opportunities to connect as leading public works professionals will be able to add their unique perspectives to the conversation.
Will WASTECON be significantly different? Yes! There will be new people to meet, a new schedule to follow, new exhibitors to visit and new issues to discuss. But what won’t be new is that WASTECON 2010 will still be the leading event for solid waste professionals by solid waste professionals. We look forward to seeing you there as we connect, learn and share to create a stronger solid waste profession.
