Pellet Power. Pellets are produced by breaking wood into small fine particles and running it through an extruder to form something akin to rabbit food, or pellets. The pellets are clean, easy to handle, and frequently used to heat homes in Europe.

Wood to Burn.  Biomass can also go straight from the grinder to the power plant.  Power plants can operate solely on woodwaste or coal to supplement their fuel source.  This reduces the amount of coal used and allows the facility to earn carbon credits.

Alternative Fuel. The greatest push for the use of organics in energy production is replacing foreign oil with ethanol. The majority of ethanol plants rely on grain feedstock. But cellulosic biomass, including woodwastes, is in the early stage of commercial development.
