
SCS Engineers Acquires Environmental Health Services, Inc.
Long Beach, CA – As of January 1, 2008, SCS Engineers (SCS) has acquired Environmental Health Services, Inc. through an asset acquisition. Headquartered in North Las Vegas, Nevada, this small business firm specializes in occupational health and safety consultation. It will now operate as the Environmental Health Services Division of SCS and as a Nevada satellite office.
Services now available through this newest addition to the SCS family include: industrial hygiene and safety consulting, mold investigations and monitoring, asbestos and lead control, litigation support, environmental assessments and programs, loss control programs, workers compensation management, laboratory services, EPA and OSHA training programs.
The laboratory services include AIHA Accredited Environmental Microbiology laboratory analysis for fungi and bacteria in environmental samples, as well as asbestos analysis capability. Over 100 safety, environmental, health and construction management training courses are offered. Most classes can be on an as-needed basis and taught at the requestor’s location. California approved asbestos courses are presently being offered as well.
SCS now adds to its growing staff these specialists: ABIH Certified Industrial Hygienists, BCSP Certified Safety Professionals, Registered Safety Engineers, Certified Environmental Managers, and Nevada Licensed Asbestos Consultants.
SCS will also utilize this new office to better serve it traditional clientele in the solid waste engineering and environmental remediation areas. SCS has historically been one of the nation’s leading solid waste consulting firms, as well as a major provider of real estate-related environmental due diligence and remediation services.
