Veolia Environmental Services Receives Intel’s Preferred Quality Supplier Award

Veolia Environmental Services was named a recipient of Intel Corporation’s 2007 Preferred Quality Supplier (PQS) award for outstanding performance in providing products and services deemed essential to Intel’s success. The company is awarded for its efforts supplying Intel with hazardous waste transportation and disposal. Veolia Environmental Services and 34 additional PQS award winners will be honored at a celebration in Burlingame, California on March 18.

“Veolia Environmental Services has been a service provider for Intel’s waste program for the past 8 years and is delighted for this prestigious PQS recognition, which is consistent with our company’s commitment to resource sustainability and environmental protection,” said Philippe Martin, chief executive officer of Veolia’s Technical Solutions (USA) division.

“Intel is proud to award Veolia Environmental Services with the Preferred Quality Supplier Award,” said Cherry Moyer, program manager, Corporate Environmental Health and, Intel Corporation. “Year after year, Veolia exceeds expectations with their high ethics and capabilities and has brought new facilities on-line so that Intel can safely and confidently manage waste in locations where we are growing our operations.”

The PQS awards are part of Intel’s Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) process that encourages suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for PQS status, suppliers must score 80 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, delivery, technology and responsiveness goals. Suppliers must also manage and deliver on a challenging improvement plan and a quality systems assessment.
