East Trailers Promotes Two Long-Standing Employees
East Manufacturing recently named Gary Brown as vice president of manufacturing and Cam Weese as plant superintendent, announced Dave Tate, president. “When you are focused on the goal of making better trailers, their experience provides a great foundation,” said Tate. “Gary and Cam not only have the working knowledge, they also share our corporate commitment to continuously improving our operations and our products. We are pleased to recognize their exceptional leadership, integrity, innovativeness, and long standing commitment to the company.”
In his new position, Weese reports to Brown and oversees all phases of production and employee relations, including safety, quality, manufacturing processes, and scheduling. Weese, who started as a body welder at East in February 1991, moved steadily through the ranks, first to outside welder, then lead man, second-shift supervisor on the body line, and first-shift supervisor in the Body Department. He has served as general supervisor of the Body Department and Fabrication since 1999.
In addition to supervising Weese, Brown oversees all plant operations, including quality control and safety, employee relations, process innovation and supervisor development. He is also responsible for meeting operating budgets, schedule demands, and customer expectations. Brown joined the company as a welder in May 1976 and has served in various capacities and departments over his three-plus decade tenure, most recently as plant manager.
Brown resides in Louisville, Ohio, near Akron/Canton, with his wife, Gayle, and son and two daughters. Weese resides in Akron, Ohio with his wife, Gina, and two sons.
