Spartanburg County intends to develop a landfill gas energy (LFGE) project to utilize methane gas generated at its Wellford Landfill. A Landfill Gas Utilization Feasibility Study and a Systems Feasibility Study have been completed. These studies show the quantity of gas generated to be sufficient and the project to be economically feasible. A direct user for approximately 500 scfm of methane gas has been identified and secured.
Spartanburg County will construct and maintain ownership of the gas collection, treatment, and delivery system. The selected consultant will provide operation and maintenance for a specified term after start-up of the system. Spartanburg County is requesting a letter of interest and qualifications from consultants knowledgeable and experienced in the development of LFGE projects. The interested consultants shall be knowledgeable and experienced in the design, permitting, construction administration, construction, and operation and maintenance of LFGE projects.

A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on May 8, 2008 at 10:00 AM (EDT) at the Public Works Department, Conference Room 209 at the Spartanburg County Community Services Building, 9039 Fairforest Road, Spartanburg, SC.
Proposals must be received no later than 2:00 PM (EDT) on June 3, 2008.
