Landfill gas (LFG) is an eligible renewable energy resource for both of the following opportunities.

East Kentucky Power Cooperative
Notice of Intent to Submit Proposal Due: May 1, 2008*
Proposals Due: June 30, 2008

East Kentucky Power Cooperative (EKPC) is seeking at least 200 and up to 300 megawatts (MW) of renewable capacity and associated energy resources. EKPC will give first preference to proposals that locate the source(s) of capacity within the existing control area of EKPC and second preference to sources inside Kentucky. Proposals that involve resources outside the state of Kentucky will also be considered.

This RFP is open to those parties who currently own, propose to develop, or have rights to a renewable energy generating facility larger than 1 MW. Bidders may submit multiple proposals to fulfill the resource request. EKPC does not intend to offer a self-build option for this RFP. The proposal must be based upon a proven technology. EKPC will retain all environmental attributes associated with the bidder's proposed bid energy, including but not limited to, renewable energy credits, green tags, greenhouse gas or carbon credits, and any other emissions attributes.

A Notice of Intent to Submit a Proposal is requested from all prospective bidders (Attachment I of the RFP). This form is due at EKPC Headquarters no later than 4:00 PM (EDT) on May 1, 2008. Potential bidders should make their best effort to provide accurate information about their planned proposal; however, bidders will not be bound by the information provided in the completed Notice of Intent to Submit Proposal form. *Failure to submit a Notice of Intent to Submit a Proposal is not cause for disqualification.

Proposals are due at EKPC Headquarters no later than 4:00 PM (EDT) on June 30, 2008.

Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation

Proposals Due: June 3, 2008

Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC) is issuing an RFP to meet its need for future capacity and associated energy. Proposals for renewable resources should be 2 MW or greater. Capacity should be available beginning no later than June 1, 2017.

AECC is open to all forms of proposals including partnerships and proposals with AECC having an ownership share.

This RFP is open to any bidder who currently owns or intends to develop generation facilities or to any bidder who has or intends to have contracts for firm capacity with owners of generation facilities.

The capacity and associated energy must be deliverable to AECC load in the American Electric Power Load Zone. Preference will be given to capacity that is electrically closest to AECC load in northwest Arkansas.

Proposals must be received by June 3, 2008.
