Public agencies can be assured they’re building on a strong foundation, as well as benefitting from shortened construction time, by using pre-fabricated structures.
Sourcewell recently awarded two contracts in the ‘Pre-Engineered Buildings’ category, adding to its diverse line of options and vendors.
Sourcewell Contract Administrator Corey Jensen says the category and its solutions will benefit end-users with reduced design and construction time over traditional construction without compromising strength and durability.
“Pre-engineered buildings are a great alternative to traditional building methods, saving both time and money,” Jensen explains. “In this category, the buildings are built from components engineered in advance, and standardized–saving on design, production, and assembly time.”
Sourcewell (formerly NJPA), a cooperative purchasing organization, awarded these contracts following a competitive solicitation process:
BlueScope Construction: Steel frame pre-engineered buildings, roofing systems, post-frame (wood) pre-engineered buildings, post-frame (wood) structures, steel frame members and components, design and entitlement processes, site preparation and installation, Butler® product line, Lester® product line, Varco Pruden® product line.
Nucor Buildings Group: Building design and detail, custom-engineered metal building systems, metal joist and decking systems, walk doors and windows, building systems, roof curbs, skylights, foam insulated panel systems, building insulation systems.
Effective March 6, 2019, these contracts are available to all Sourcewell members throughout the United States and Canada. Purchasers from public entities save time and money by streamlining the procurement process with cooperative purchasing.
